Stop wearing short socks with dress pants.

Those shoes are so nice too.

  • aeslynnFor the bassoon player: I am majoring in oboe and I march mello simultaneously and it hasn't affected either embochoure. I realize bassoon is fairly different, but still a double reed!

  • the---kingFor flute player anon: you should probably test out each mouth piece for yourself trumpet/mello/baritone/euph. Flute takes A LOT of air and you would be able to support a bigger instrument breathe wise which could give you an advantage. ~but you should test out each one and see which is most natural before committing.~

  • ilivewith100catsI am in need of an answer! I play bassoon (6 years) in one concert band at my high school and then I play french horn (2.5 months) in the highest concert band right after. (The classes are back to back) I also play mellophone(2.5months) in marching band. I'd like to know how doing this affects my embouchure. This is important because I'm auditioning for the Blue Coats this year on Mellophone.
  • If anyone disagrees chime in.

You be aight. The worst thing is the Fact that you aren’t actively practicing bassoon (when you march)

But there are people who play multiple instruments professionally. So you be Gucci

  • drumcorpslifeTo the flute player anon/ anyone interested: I'm not sure if this is true for all flute players, but I've heard from some friends that they were much more successful on baritone or euphonium as flute players because the embouchure is less extreme than a high brass instrument. So playing euphonium did not mess with their flute embouchure as much. Just an idea to consider :)
